Maithili Rajput is an interdisciplinary practitioner whose work demands movement, attention, and engagement with the complexities of human experience. Her practice interrogates themes of endurance, resistance, and the fragile boundaries—both physical and emotional—that shape our daily lives.

Rooted in labor-intensive processes and intimate gestures, Rajput reinterprets everyday objects and materials to expose the tension between allure and danger within the mundane. Working across sculpture, performance, video, and installation, she constructs spaces where the familiar and the unsettling converge. Through cryptic arrangements and uncanny juxtapositions, her work invites viewers to confront discomfort and ambiguity.

Rajput’s practice contemplates endurance not as triumph or defeat, but as a condition of existence; where endurance is neither victory nor loss, but simply existence. By foregrounding moments of unease and vulnerability, she challenges cultural and social norms, encouraging reflection on the unseen forces that shape our connections and experiences.

Shaped by her experiences of cultural displacement and identity, Rajput's work reflects her ongoing negotiation of belonging and otherness. Born in India and currently based in Boston, Maithili Rajput is an MFA candidate in Boston University’s graduate sculpture program.
